Beauty Trends to Try in 2020

A New Year AND a new decade has arrived (ok it arrived like months ago, but still relevant), bringing us 10 more years of hit and miss beauty trends. The past decade brought us balayage, big lips, bold brows and lash extentions! What's next?! Here are some trends for 2020 that have started to become more and more popular!

M A K E . U P & M O R E

Eurphoric Glam

Think soft 80's glitter, pastel colours like lilac, and neon eyeshadows. Even just a pop of neon in the inner corner of your eyes will do the trick.

Products to try: -HUDA BEAUTY Neon Obsessions Palette

-MAC COSMETICS Eye Shadow in #Humblebrag - icy metallic lilac

Pre-Highlighter Try applying a liquid highlighter underneath your foundation/concealer for a more subtle look.

Products to try:

-TARTE Tarteist™ PRO Glow Liquid Highlighter

-BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector® Liquid Highlighter

Bold Lip with Neutral Eye

Natural everything is the look in 2020. Amp up a natural look with a bold lip to make the look more fun! Feathered Eyebrow This trend is no surprise with the rise of brow lamination from last year! If you aren't ready for the 6-8 week commitment of a lamination treatment, try the soap trick. Simply glide your spoolie over a bar of soap and brush your eyebrow hairs up. There are soaps out there specifically created to be used on eyebrow hairs! Products to try: -WBCo Soapbrows

S K I N . C A R E Skin care treatments have skyrocketed these past few years, but especially in 2019. More and more people are trying the classic facials, chemical peels and microdermabrasion. Here's a few treatments that became more popular in 2019, but will continue to grow in popularity in 2020.

Dermaplaning

A manual exfoliation treatment used to remove peach fuzz and dead skin with a scalpel, leaving you with amazingly glowly skin. Those expensive serums absorb more efficiently into your skin, and you are no longer left with a caked on makeup look.

Microneedling

A.K.A. Collegan Induction Therapy. Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that uses tiny needles to prick the skin. This triggers the body's wound healing process, stimulating collagen and elastin production. Microneedling improves the appearance of acne scarring, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, pore size and more!

Natural, Preventive Products Gen Zers won't be sleeping with their makeup on. This generation is more aware of preventive aging and skin care measures than any generation before them. We will continue to see a rise in "clean beauty" with natural based products- specifically CBD.

Products to try: -KIEHL'S SINCE 1851 Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate (Hemp-Derived)

H A I R In 2019 we saw blunt bobs, a rise in adult hair accessories and pastel colours.

70's Curtain Bang Admit it, you've thought about getting bangs- or maybe you did and realized that not everyone can pull them off (ME). Next time you're feeling the bang urge, try this new trend instead of committing to the full thing.

Soft Bob

The bob is still around- this time with a more soft shaggy look. Bye-bye sharp lines.

Root Shadows This was fairly prominent in 2019, but will continue to rise in 2020. Shadow roots is a great way to blend your roots and transition from highlights to balayage. Did I mention it's much more low maintenance?
